This spring, Sunset Cinema presents a new drive-in experience at the iconic St Ives Showground. Bring the car, the kids, even the dog, and enjoy a night at the movies with a twist!
After bringing you outdoor cinemas across Australia for over seven years, Sunset Cinema is now presenting a new event for the North Shore and Northern Beaches communities. From 1st til 31st October, they’re bringing back the old-school drive-in experience with a selection of nostalgic classics, family films and long-awaited blockbuster releases. After a long winter of isolation, Sunset Drive In Ku-Ring-Gai is this season’s entertainment salvation!
Over 20 movies will be on offer between 1 and 31 October, including Frozen, The Secret Garden and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Gates at the Sunset Drive-In Cinema at St Ives Showground will open from 6pm nightly from 1 October, with films starting at 7pm. Perfect for date nights, family nights or girls catch ups in a time of social distancing, it’s sure to be a fun and safe event to delight everyone. This includes bringing along your furry friends, as dogs are welcome too!
The drive-in cinema will offer patrons food and drink options at the Showground, but the audience are asked to otherwise remain seated in their vehicles due to COVID-19 restrictions. You can also bring your own food to the event. Up to 180 vehicles per session can be accommodated at the Showground, and according to Mayor Jennifer Anderson, “Everyone is looking for something safe and enjoyable to do at this time and we believe this will be very popular with the public. This is an exciting new attraction at the venue and fits in well with our plans to generate more visitors to the Showground”.
With excellent value of $50 plus booking fee (up to 8 people), fill up your car with your fellow movie lovers and come enjoy Sunset Drive In Ku-ring-gai.
