ANZAC Day 2026 marks the 111th year since the Gallipoli Landing in 1915. To commemorate the sacrifices of servicepeople from Australia and New Zealand throughout history, here are some of the ceremonies and events taking place in the local area:
Dawn Service, March and Commemoration at Avalon Beach RSL
This year’s Dawn Service at Avalon RSL commences at 5:50am in the Commemoration Ara, just outside of the RSL Club in Dunbar Park. Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to join the veterans for light refreshments or a bacon & egg roll breakfast from the Avalon Beach RSL Fishing Club for a small donation. The March, with local veterans, community representatives and business owners will then commence at 11am from Avalon Public School on Old Barrenjoey Road, and travel from Avalon Parade to Bowling Green Lane before returning to Dunbar Park. Here, a Commemoration Service will then be conducted, before attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments, lunch and 2-Up from Midday at the Surf Lounge.

ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Dee Why RSL
Dee Why RSL begins ANZAC Day with a Dawn Service from 5:30am on Dee Why Beach. The RSL then begins serving breakfast from 6:30am, with all proceeds supporting local veterans. Live 2-Up will then open at 12pm – or, join local musicians for live performances from 1pm in the Courtyard.

Northern Beaches Council is holding ceremonies across the Northern Beaches to commemorate ANZAC Day, and encourages all residents and past or present servicepeople to attend. These ceremonies are hosted by Northern Beaches Council and Manly Warringah War Memorial Park Remembrance Trust.

ANZAC Day On The Deck at Pittwater RSL
From 12pm on ANZAC Day, Pittwater RSL is hosting its annual Deck Muster, bringing the community together with good times, good food and good drink, all around its giant outdoor 2-Up ring. Pittwater RSL boasts the largest 2-Up ring on the Peninsula, and everyone from seasoned players to complete newcomers are welcome to step into the ring. ANZAC Day specials will also be available all day long at the Glasshouse Grill.

ANZAC Day At The Harbord Diggers
This year at Harbord Diggers, ANZAC Day opens with its annual ANZAC Commemorative Service from 8am on the Ocean Terrace. This family-friendly event is non-ticketed and free to attend for all community members, and includes a march, wreath-laying ceremony and live performances to honour the service of past and present servicepeople.
From 12pm, the Ocean Terrace opens into an (18+ only) 2-Up ring complete with a live DJ. A portion of proceeds from this ticketed event will be donated to Veterans charities. Tickets are available here.

This year, The Newport is open on ANZAC day from 10am, with 2-Up starting at 1pm on The Deck, accompanied by a live DJ. All proceeds from this event are to be donated to Wounded Heroes Australia.

This year at The Mona, 2-Up is on from 12pm, followed by an evening of live music from 5pm. Settle in for a drink and some food with your community, and enjoy the NRL screened live on the big screens all day long.
