Nestled just steps from the sand, Armchair Collective has been a vibrant part of the Mona Vale Beach community for nearly 15 years, offering great coffee and so much more…

Since opening in April 2011, Armchair Collective café and homewares store has grown from a small beachside spot into a lifestyle destination where locals and visitors can enjoy fresh breakfasts, leisurely lunches, a relaxed beachside atmosphere – and pick up something beautiful for their home!

A Mona Vale Beach Cafe and Homewares Haven

Armchair Collective is now owned and operated by Tanya and Robert Kable, who took over last year.

“We really wanted to honour what was already here because so many locals have been coming back for years,” Tanya says. “It was important to us not to change what people love about the space. We’ve made a few thoughtful updates to keep things evolving, but our focus has always been on preserving the heart of Armchair Collective and what makes it so special to the community.”

Tanya also curates the homewares collection, which features beautiful furniture, décor, kitchenware, and a dedicated children’s section with toys and books. There’s also lots of playful coastal items, all carefully selected to complement the café’s casual beachside style.

Breakfast, Lunch and Licensed Drinks All Day

Breakfast and lunch are served all day, with the kitchen open from 7 am to 2:15 pm. The café is fully licensed and serves alcohol from 10am, so you can enjoy a brunch Mimosa or a cold glass of sauv blanc or Young Henry Pale Ale over lunch.

Popular breakfast dishes include sweet pancakes, corn fritters, and the signature Armchair Breakfast shakshuka. Personally, my entire family can’t go past the French toast and agree it is truly special, with fresh, balanced flavours that keep us coming back.

Lunch favourites are smoked salmon and avocado brioche, the grilled barramundi tacos, fresh salad bowls, the pulled pork with mango salsa. There’s also a standout Angus beef burger and chips, topped with streaky bacon, American cheese, caramelised onion, relish, house sauce, tomato and pickles on a milk bun.

Coffee connoisseurs take note: Armchair Collective serves consistently high-quality Single O coffee.

All Welcome at This Mona Vale Beach Cafe – Humans and Furry Friends

Visit on any day of the week and it is hard to tell who the most valued customers are: adorable dogs, visiting horses, or the friendly locals enjoying a post-surf coffee. Armchair Collective’s location is pawfectly convenient for those heading to or from South Mona Vale Headland Dog Off-leash Area at Robert Dunn Reserve, so well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you for breakfast or a leisurely lunch.

There’s no reason to wonder how this local gem has stood the test of time on the Beaches. Friendly local service, fresh seasonal dishes, a licensed drinks menu, a curated homewares and children’s section, and a strong community focus that welcomes all creatures big and small, Armchair Collective truly lives up to its reputation as a Mona Vale Beach café that has everything/

Stay tuned, too, for something new on the horizon as the team explores fresh ways to experience this beautiful venue after hours!
