Think pink – and delicious – when you head to Daniel San in Manly for the Cherry Blossom Festival, where you can dine on pretty pink food and sip rosy cocktails.

Manly’s beachside rock ‘n’ roll bar will undergo a pretty-in-pink transformation when its second annual Cherry Blossom Festival returns to bloom. While most of us can only dream of frolicking through a pink-petaled Japanese garden this year, Daniel San will do the next best thing as it transports our taste buds and sends our Instagram feed into overdrive from September 23rd to October 31st.

Cherry blossoms (sakura) are a symbolic flower of Spring, marking a period of renewal, which we could all use right about now. If nothing else you’ll feel blooming good at Daniel San as you make your way through a carefully curated cocktail list and graze through the pop-up pink menu. Treat your tastebuds with sakura mochi balls, pink bao buns and cherry blossom-infused sushi while sipping on a pink Gin Fizz or a Sakura Gin Martini. If you’d like to be completely flushed with pink, partake in the Bottomless Bellini package, which for $59pp includes a sakura tasting plate and two hours of free-flowing pink Bellinis.

The vibe here is a fresh, fun take on Japanese culture, no doubt more influenced by our sunny seaside lifestyle than the Land of the Rising Sun. Like a true rockstar, Daniel San constantly reinvents itself, and this annual pink affair could only be pulled off by a bar oozing with confidence. With daily happy hours, all-you-can-eat wings on a Wednesday and a kids-eat-free menu from Wednesday to Sunday, the vibrant venue has been a Northern Beaches crowd pleaser for years.

The five-week Cherry Blossom Festival is a fruitful celebration of Spring, a social media bonanza, and, you could say, it puts the rose-coloured glasses on what has been a pretty bleak year. For a few delightful hours, fans of fun dining concepts are going to be tickled pink.

Daniel San is located at 55 North Steyne Rd, Manly

The Cherry Blossom Festival will run from September 23rd to October 31st, 2020.
