Well-known local actor Rob Carlton presents his award-winning play Virgin in a Knife Fight at Glen Street Theatre this August.

Acclaimed Australian Actor and writer Rob Carlton spent many of his formative years as a Northern Beaches local. He attended Pittwater High and played for both the Narrabeen Tigers Rugby and Collaroy Plateau Cricket clubs.

Rob went on to win a silver Logie for his portrayal of Kerrie Packer in Paper Giants, and an AWGIE award for Chandon Pictures which he wrote, directed and starred in. He’s had numerous and varied TV and film roles, and most recently starred in Boy Swallows Universe and The White Lotus.

Now Rob is returning to his roots and bringing his new show, with a very compelling title – Virgin In A Knifefight to Glen Street Theatre in Belrose.

The show has already been described as a masterclass in theatrical storytelling. It brings to life four true stories with four different moments of reckoning. Packed with laughs, Virgin In A Knifefight also gets into the messy stuff that surprises us, making life rich.

It all begins on the backstreets of Salzburg, where 18-year-old Rob, who’s armed with nothing but charm and a knack for getting himself into trouble, finds himself in a three-person knife fight.

From there, the stories spiral through university misadventure, an absurd courtroom showdown on our very own Northern Beaches, and a moving moment of fatherhood and friendship that hits straight in the heart.

With the same warmth, wit and impeccable storytelling that earned him multiple Fringe awards, Rob turns chaos into comedy and confession into connection. Virgin in a Knife Fight is proof that life’s best stories come when we’re both the hero and the idiot – and sometimes, both at once.
