Now that restrictions have lifted there are some major and very interesting events popping up in the local area – here are a few that sound like they’re worth adding to the diary!

Champagne and Clothes Swap, Narrabeen

RISE UP CLOTHES SWAP is an event for women supporting women to get back on their feet. It will be held on Friday 14th of May at the Narrabeen Beach SLSC from 7 – 10 pm.
The funds raised will go to Dress for Success Sydney, which supports women with a criminal record to build resilience and gain their confidence with the aim of securing employment. This will change their lives and that of their children as well as break cycles of recidivism.  Over 70% of women impacted by the legal system have been victims of domestic violence, mental illness and trauma. More than one third are released to homelessness.
The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tool to help women thrive in work and life.
Each guest is required to bring 5 items of work wear appropriate clothing to swap, any clothes left will be donated to Dress for Success and the program.
The Guest Speaker will be Eleni Psillakis a representative of Success Works and Dress For Success, who will explain how the program works and more about the women it helps.
There are only 100 tickets available to this event, so book fast. Tickets are $50 and include: Champagne on Arrival, Grazing Table sponsored by Lynne May of Stone Real Estate, Live Entertainment by Riggs Music – DJ Monique, $900 Portrait Sitting by John Latham to be won, More raffles and prizes on the night. Never Ending 80s DY RSL

Is this the real life, is this just fantasy? No, it’s just non-stop hits from the 80s coming at you live and all night long. Catch the Never Ending 80s tribute band as they head to Dee Why RSL for two nights only. Belt out your favourite tunes including those by Prince, Whitney, Madonna, Billy Idol, Belinda Carlisle, George Michael/Wham! Springsteen, Queen, AC/DC, Katrina & The Waves, Bon Jovi, INXS, Rick Springfield, Aha, Elton John and so much more. There’ll be prizes for the best dressed 80s rockers, so dust off those crimping irons and make your way to the dance floor. Word to the wise – these sell out fast!

Food Truck Party – Taste of the Beaches

Part of the month-long foodie event, Taste of the Beaches, don’t miss the Food Truck Party as it pulls into Winnererremy Bay for one day only. Bring your appetite, a picnic rug and settle in for a day of live music and grazing courtesy of the area’s four-wheeled food fiestas. The full list of food truck vendors will be announced soon.
