Forest Hotel

Soak up the Sydney sunshine with your family at the new Forest Hotel, a great addition to the Frenchs Forest locale. As reported by, it was “built to replace popular live music venue the Parkway Hotel, which was the rebranded Cobb & Co Hotel, which was previously the Antler Hotel…The project will also include an adjacent six-storey, 100-room hotel, where once was the Skyline Drive-In theatre, with a gym, spa rooms, landscaped lawn and 164 car spaces. Forest’s new Sports Bar offers both indoor and outdoor children’s play areas.”

The Terrace sounds like the place to sit back and enjoy the surrounding leafy views while the kids play. And once they’ve burnt off some energy, you can treat them to the bistro’s ‘Little Ones’ menu that features cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, spaghetti bolognese and even poke bowls.

Belrose Hotel

Who doesn’t love a pinball machine? Image: Belrose Hotel

The Belrose Hotel, a much-loved venue on the Northern Beaches, is well set up for families and its young visitors! It’s got an excellent indoor playground and kid’s zone for both bubs and older children – in fact, it’s one of the largest ‘soft-play’ playgrounds in any hotel in Australia. Once they’ve worked up an appetite after playtime, the kids’ menu has firm favourites like ham and pineapple pizza, mac and cheese, and fish and chips.

The newest venue in Brookvale, Bucketty’s Brewery, offers a great micro brewery vibe where everyone’s welcome. While you sip on freshly-brewed beers and munch on food from the onsite food truck, young ones can keep themselves entertained in their super cool play space – and there’s even a pool table and Street Fighter loaded on to the NBA Jam machine for bigger kids (and kids at heart).

The kids’ menu sounds great t00 – choose from chicken wings, coconut prawns, vege sticks and bolognese.

The Newport

It may still be ‘The Arms’ to many of us, but there’s no denying The Newport is a stunning venue and extremely family friendly. There’s a great play area for the kids and plenty of events taking place throughout the year such as The Newport Cinema by the Sea and live music gigs. There’s a really great family vibe here and the varied food options means that everyone can have what they feel like – although you can’t go past the woodfired pizzas for the whole family to share. We hope they bring back the cool kids’ entertainment soon too, like the reptile man – keep an eye on their socials.

Pitty RSL has been serving the local area for ages. Now kids can be entertained as well with the Potter’s kids’ playground. The playground is part of Potter’s Cafe and Bar, situated in the indoor terrace. You can relax there with a cake and coffee (or something more substantial from their menu) and leave the kids to play. There’s a kids’ menu too, with $13.50 options that include a soft drink/juice.
