Northern Beaches’ beloved Gusto café relocates to Bally…

Ask any Northern Beaches local their favourite coffee spot, and chances are many would have pointed you to Gusto on the Beach at South Curl Curl. Now, this beloved café institution has traded ocean views for the green, relocating to Balgowlah Golf Club.

The move marks a new chapter for the popular eatery, which has transformed into Gusto on the Green while keeping its signature welcoming atmosphere and great tasting fuss-free food. Lisa and Brendan’s previous venue at South Curl Curl went to tender, with Shahid and Anna Rahman (owners of Fish Face Balgowlah) winning the coveted spot. Now called The Beach Eatery, they’ve consulted with local chef Miles Ackermans of Serva in Seaforth to help design the menu.

As for Gusto on the Green, located at 506 Sydney Road, their new spot offers indoor dining and a kid-friendly outdoor area overlooking the manicured golf course.

Opening daily from 6:30am, the menu features all the breakfast favourites that made Gusto famous – from açai bowls and corn fritters to the perfectly smashed avo and trusty bacon and egg rolls. Lunch comes with hearty options like steak sandwiches and chicken burgers, alongside lighter fare, including Greek salads and fresh mango and avocado combinations.

In excellent news if you’re a parent of young kids: their new Summer Sessions menu is available from 3pm Friday-Sunday. Perfect for after-school catch-ups (when you don’t want to entertain) and early dinners, their menu features family favourites like cheeseburgers, schnittys, salads and nachos. Kids get their own menu, while adults can also enjoy lighter snacks, including spicy chicken wings, corn chips with guacamole, and vegetable spring rolls.

Gusto on the Green’s new location solves the age-old parking challenge that many cafes on Sydney Road experience. They have ample onsite parking and convenient three-minute spaces for takeaway orders. Taking advantage of its new home, the business has also expanded into function catering, with the Clubhouse available for events. Recently hosting many Christmas events, including Seaforth Public School’s fundraising event, the Santa Chase.

“Whether you’re running in for a takeaway, enjoying a well-deserved bite after golf, or just popping in for a relaxing meal in the Clubhouse – all are welcome,” say Lisa and Brendan, owners of Gusto on the Green, highlighting the spirit that’s made them a Northern Beaches fave.
