One of Sydney’s most scenic wine events is returning just across the Spit this October, bringing more than 20 Hunter Valley wineries and distillers together beside the beach.

Hunter Valley Uncorked Balmoral will take place on Sunday 18 October 2026, offering Northern Beaches wine lovers the chance to experience some of the region’s best-known labels, boutique producers, local food and live music without making the drive to wine country.

Held around the Balmoral Rotunda from 11am to 5pm, the festival attracted 2,600 people last year, with an even bigger event planned for 2026.

A Big Hunter Valley Line-Up

This year’s line-up includes Brokenwood Wines, recently named the Halliday Wine Companion’s 2026 Winery of the Year.

First Creek Wines and Silkman Wines will also be taking part. Winemaker Liz Silkman was named the Halliday Wine Companion’s 2025 Winemaker of the Year. They’ll be joined by long-time Uncorked favourites and boutique producers from Hunter Valley Wine Country.

Participating wineries and distillers include 1813, Aeon Wine, Allandale Winery, Bimbadgen, Bonvilla Estate, Gartelmann Wines, Glandore, Hungerford Hill, Keith Tulloch Wine, FAR Distilling, Latitude 32 Wines, Margan Wines, Mount View Estate, Peterson House, Petersons Wines, Saddlers Creek Wines, Savannah Estate, Scarborough Wine Co, Tulloch Wines, Tyrrell’s, Winmark Wines and Wombat Crossing Vineyard. Tastings will cover classic Hunter Valley Semillon and Shiraz, sparkling wines, emerging varieties and locally made spirits.

“For one Sunday, we’re bringing a little piece of Hunter Valley Wine Country to Balmoral,” Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association CEO Jennie Curran said.

“It’s a chance to meet the people behind the wines, taste everything from classic Hunter Valley Semillon and Shiraz through to bubbles, emerging varieties and locally made spirits, then find a spot in the park and enjoy the afternoon.”

Food, Wine and Live Music by the Beach

The Hunter Valley Cheese Factory, The Deck Café and the BBQ School are among the regional food producers confirmed for the festival, alongside a selection of other food vendors.

Live entertainment will run throughout the day, with plenty of space to find a spot near the Rotunda and enjoy the beachside setting between tastings.

For Northern Beaches locals, it offers an easy alternative to a weekend away in the Hunter. You can explore wineries, speak directly with producers and enjoy some regional food, all within a short trip across the Spit.

Getting There From the Northern Beaches

Free event shuttle buses will run every 15 minutes from Spit Junction and Mosman to Balmoral Beach.

Those travelling from the Northern Beaches can make their way to Spit Junction and connect with the shuttle, avoiding the challenge of finding parking close to Balmoral on a busy Sunday.

Pre-purchased Festival Packs cost $40 and include entry, a branded tumbler and four tasting vouchers. Festival Packs will cost $45 when purchased on the day.

Everyone who pre-purchases a Festival Pack will also go into the draw to win half a dozen bottles of premium Hunter Valley wine.

The final wine vouchers will be sold at 4.30pm, with the last pours at 4.45pm before the festival finishes at 5pm.
