Teddy Bears Picnic, Harbord Diggers

Spring has sprung and to celebrate, Harbord Diggers are putting on a Teddy Bears’ Picnic. On Sept 26, bring your teddy and enjoy story time, plus a drink and snack (11am-2pm).

On Sept 27, (11am-2pm) there’s a Teddy Bear Making Workshop. Kids can make their own bear friend.

Vivo and Spiderman: No Way Home at the Open Air Cinema, Brookvale

One of the best things about spring is warmer weather, ideal for outdoor cinema sessions. Catch your favourite films under the stars at Brookvale Oval’s popular Open Air Cinema, returning in the spring school holidays with screenings of the blockbuster Spider-Man No Way Home (2021) and the heart-warming, animated musical Vivo (2021).

Coastal Environment Centre ”Kids on the Coast” Spring School Holidays, Narrabeen

This would have to be one of the best resources in the area when it comes to helping kids be aware of how lucky they are to live by the coast! The Coastal Environment Centre (CEC) also offers a school holiday program with a difference. “With a unique theme for each day, your child will learn about our natural environment through a range of fun and interesting activities. This is a great opportunity for children to learn about our environment and how they can help preserve it. The holiday program is suitable for children six to 12 years. (unless otherwise noted).

Umbrella Nine Co is a family focused bouldering gym located in Warringah Mall. “We are keen on getting more kids into the climbing scene and wanted to create a space specifically for them and their families.” There is one main point of difference with this indoor climbing centre – no ropes! “The walls are obviously lower, and they are surrounded by soft padded mats (in case you fall). Manly Surf Guide Surfing Lessons, Dee Why

What could be better for little locals? Manly Surf Guide has made teaching surfing their business and in the school holidays they run surf camps that operate from Dee Why Beach from 10am-2pm. On the camp kids will learn:

  • Ocean safety & surf etiquette
  • Ocean & wave positioning
  • Paddling & catching waves
  • Control, standing up & riding waves

Science Show – Destination Moon and Beyond, Mona Vale & Dee Why

3,2,1…BLAST OFF!

In this fun interactive show, you’ll discover the science required to reach the Moon and the space programs that made it all happen. From trajectories & orbits to rocketry & materials science, we’ll look at current and future space programs, operations and missions. This show is presented by Fizzics Education.

Good to know: Suitable for primary school aged children. Adults are welcome to stay for the show, however you will need to book a FREE ‘accompanying adult’ ticket to attend.

Balmoral Watersports Spring School Holidays Activities

“Have Fun – Be Safe – Learn New Skills – Make New Friends” these spring school holidays!

Our “Multi-activity” water-sports camp offers different activities throughout the day, including Sailing, Windsurfing, Stand up Paddleboarding, Kayaking and games on/off water, with a major emphasis on having fun, and gaining & improving water-sports skills!

Every day is a different day with changing weather conditions, new games and new challenges. We welcome kids with water-sports skills & abilities as well as total beginners. Our aim is to introduce kids to water sports, gain more confidence on the water, and learn sailing in a fun way. We also really encourage making new friends.

Kids can start from 7 yrs old to 15 years old, they must already be able to swim 25m confidently. We have 3 different age groups: 7 to 9yo; 10 to 12yo; and 13 to 15yo. We will also make sure they are put together with friends on the 1st day if required. Be prepared for a fabulous week of fun and learning. It’s exactly where your kids want to be, rain or shine!

Good to know: Children are to bring their own packed lunch. The program will continue in wet weather conditions. Please ensure you or your child are aware of the weather forecast for the day and have packed accordingly.

The Big Bounce, St. Ives Showground

Spend your spring school holidays at the world’s biggest (and most over-the-top) jumping castle! As part of its 2022 Comeback Tour, The Big Bounce’s 1500 square metre inflatable kingdom is coming to St. Ives Showground. Kids can run, roll, dip and dunk with the park featuring obstacle runs, ball pits, giant slides, climbing towers and basketball pits.

The fun doesn’t stop there. Kids can also compete in the bouncy Sport Slam arena, adventure through 50 unique obstacles in The Giant maze and get lost in the out-of-this-world inflatable world called Air Space. There are dedicated sessions for toddlers ages 3 and under, juniors ages 7 and under, bigger kids ages 15 and younger, plus adults only sessions (ages 16+).

St Ives Treetops Adventure + Playground

Families have a new experience to explore along the southern border of Ku-ring-gai National Park. St Ives is our newest Tree Ropes Course Park, hosting 95+ aerial obstacles and 10+ ziplines, all suspended between platforms to create a maze of activities in the treetops. Courses start at 1m for little climbers and jump up to 15 metres for bigger adventurers!

Sessions run for 2.5-hours to climb as many courses as you can during your session. You can choose to start on low easy courses or go straight up on a higher course. If you don’t feel like climbing up on a higher level, you are always welcome to complete a lower or same course again during your session. Your session includes harnessing, training and approx 2-hours of climbing.

When you’re done there’s a spectacular new playground to explore as well! Perfect for spring school holidays!

Alice in Wonderland, Royal Botanic Garden

Adventure down the rabbit hole and immerse yourself in wonder and whimsy at the Australian Shakespeare Company’s production of Alice in Wonderland. Based on Lewis Carroll’s book, this enchanting show of song, dance and interactive games comes to life in Sydney’s spectacular Royal Botanic Gardens. 

Join your favourite assortment of curious characters from Lewis Carroll’s book – the skittish, constantly late White Rabbit, the pepper-obsessed Duchess and the slightly silly Mad Hatter. Will everyone make it in time for the tea party? Save your seat and don’t be late!

HyperkartingEntertainment Quarter

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines and get set for a day at Australia’s longest indoor go-karting track (410m to be exact). You don’t have to be Lewis Hamilton to enjoy yourself at Hyperkating with circuits suitable for all ages and experience levels. The Main Track is open to drivers over 140cm, while young speedsters aged 3-7 years can go for a spin on their purpose-built Mini Track with Nano Karts.

Come rain or shine, Hyperkarting’s all-weather track is always open for a good time. Buckle your seatbelts and prepare to race!

Cinderella The Musical, Sydney Lyric Theatre 

Slide on your glass slippers, Cinderella is coming to town. The Tony Award winning Broadway musical from the creators of The Sound of Music will make its home at Sydney Lyric Theatre this spring school holidays.

From the pumpkin to the glass slipper and the masked ball, this production tells the enchanting tale you know and love with some surprising new twists. Expect incredible orchestrations, jaw-dropping transformations and Cinderella’s most beloved songs, including “In My Own Little Corner” and “Ten Minutes Ago”. Room on the BroomThe Concourse Chatswood 

Following sell-out seasons across Australia, CDP Kids’ adaptation of the popular children’s book, Room on the Broom, is coming to the Concourse. This theatrical show follows the adventures of a witch and her cat on a dark and stormy night. A helpful dog, bird and frog find the witch’s lost things, and they all hop on the broom for a ride. But is there room for everyone on the broomstick and who will save the poor witch when a hungry dragon appears? See how it all unfolds with songs, laughs and scary fun at this stage show for children aged three and up – and their grown-ups!

Tag along for a day in the life of four musical misfits as they reinvigorate the junk that the world has forgotten. The contents of an abandoned kitchen and wheelie bins become the greatest drum set in the world; plastic bags are an amazing musical instrument, and the human body becomes a unique sound machine.

With a language of gibberish and rhythm, this high-energy, music-in-education performance is accessible to any age and nationality. It’s the most sustainable fun you’ll ever have, for both children and adults alike.

KYDS Boost, Chatswood 

Are your kids up for a challenge? From the 5th to 7th of October, primary and high school students can participate in KYDS Boost, a school holiday activity challenge centred upon Westfield Chatswood. The event incorporates navigation, clues to solve, sports, craft, puzzles, community, and skill-building activities with prizes on offer. Students can participate on their own or with friends and can complete all the activities over the three days or just drop in for a few hours.

Complimentary to the Quest, there will be an opportunity to meet KYDS youth counsellors and find out about their free and confidential youth counselling services. Sign up online, grab a map and let the games begin.
