“The Coastal Environment Centre (CEC) offers a school holiday program with a difference. With a unique theme for each day, your child will learn about our natural environment through a range of fun and interesting activities. Fun filled, action packed school holiday programs are offered during the summer, autumn, winter and spring school holidays. This is a great opportunity for children to learn about our environment and how they can help preserve it.

Good to Know: The holiday program is suitable for children aged 6 (who have started school) to 12 years (unless otherwise advertised). Programs generally run from 10am-3pm (unless otherwise noted).

Looking for things to do in the upcoming school holidays?

PCYC NSW runs a variety of safe, fun, creative and inclusive school holiday activities for primary and high school aged youth. Our structured programs have a selection of sport and creative based activities to ensure we offer something for everyone!

From multi-sport, gymnastics and boxing to painting, dance and crafts. From pirate days and graffiti, to coding classes and skateboarding, we have lots on offer!

PCYC Northern Beaches school holiday activities are run by qualified coaches that have a passion for working with young people in a sport and recreation environment. Our programs are designed to be affordable for the local communities that surround our clubs ensuring a cost-effective school holiday option for all families. Manly Surf Guide Surfing Lessons, Dee Why

What could be better for little locals? Manly Surf Guide has made teaching surfing their business and in the school holidays they run surf camps that operate from Dee Why Beach from 10am-2pm. On the camp kids will learn:

  • Ocean safety & surf etiquette
  • Ocean & wave positioning
  • Paddling & catching waves
  • Control, standing up & riding waves

Surf school is for beginners to intermediate levels, for kids aged 6 to 15 years old. What’s included: 2 x surf Lessons, use of surfboard and wetsuit, lunch and beach games, surf education.


Manly Waterworks

An iconic outdoor playground like no other located right in the heart of Manly where the kids can have fun sliding away while you watch on from the spectator deck with friends – or – join the fun yourself! We are so excited to be open again for sliding fun! We are open every weekend and everyday during NSW school holidays.

Jungle Float, Balmoral Beach and Clontarf Beach

It’s time to rock the boat at Jungle Float. Australia’s only floating waterpark comes to Balmoral and Clontarf beach this summer with three multi-level jumping platforms, a rope swing, high and low trampoline, diving board and waterslide. Jump on board and test out your flips and tricks or just have fun in and on the water.

Balmoral Water Sports Camp

“Have Fun – Be Safe – Learn New Skills – Make New Friends” these summer school holidays!

Our “Multi-activity” water-sports camp offers different activities throughout the day, including Sailing, Windsurfing, Stand up Paddleboarding, Kayaking and games on/off water, with a major emphasis on having fun, and gaining & improving water-sports skills!

Every day is a different day with changing weather conditions, new games and new challenges. We welcome kids with water-sports skills & abilities as well as total beginners. Our aim is to introduce kids to water sports, gain more confidence on the water, and learn sailing in a fun way. We also really encourage making new friends.

Kids can start from 7 yrs old to 15 years old, they must already be able to swim 25m confidently. We have 3 different age groups: 7 to 9yo; 10 to 12yo; and 13 to 15yo. We will also make sure they are put together with friends on the 1st day if required. Be prepared for a fabulous week of fun and learning. It’s exactly where your kids want to be, rain or shine!

Good to know: Children are to bring their own packed lunch. The program will continue in wet weather conditions. Please ensure you or your child are aware of the weather forecast for the day and have packed accordingly.

Cost: $169  for 1 day; $399 for 3 consecutive days (Monday to Wednesday); $569  for 5 days (Monday to Friday) 9am to 3pm

Sydney Dance Company Workshops

Dance with Sydney Dance Company this summer!

Young dancers aged 5-18 years will have fun, develop their dance skills and be taught by the best in the industry at our Summer School Holiday Workshops from 2-25 January 2024. We have workshops in a range of styles and levels available at our Wharf Studios in the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct and seaside at Bondi Pavillion.

Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden Bush Kids Activities, St Ives

Get your young ones to step into nature at Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden at St Ives and enjoy the great outdoors with adventure-based play activities these spring school holidays. The Bush Kids program is suitable for children aged 6 to 12. Depending on the session you choose, your kids could be learning bush survival skills, bushcraft and camping and so much more. Jurassic World: The Exhibition, Sydney Olympic Park

The award-winning Jurassic World: The Exhibition is roaring into Sydney this Spring – just in time for the school holidays! Following its recent record- breaking engagements in cities around the world, this enormous and immersive experience celebrates 30 years of the franchise that began with the ground-breaking Jurassic Park film from Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment.

Jurassic World: The Exhibition is a family-friendly exhibit of massive proportions. Visitors walk through the iconic “Jurassic World” gates, explore richly themed environments, encounter a life-sized brachiosaurus, velociraptors, and the most fearsome dinosaur of all, the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Ramses & The Gold of The Pharoahs at the Australian Museum

Exclusive to Sydney, Ramses & the Gold of the Pharaohs is an interactive museum experience that features 181 priceless artefacts and ornate golden treasures from the tomb of King Ramses II, including one-of-a-kind relics such as sarcophagi, animal mummies, magnificent jewellery, spectacular royal masks, exquisite amulets – many of which have never left Egypt before.

In cooperation with Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Australian Museum blockbuster Ramses & the Gold of the Pharaohs will be the largest cultural exhibition to visit Australia in over a decade when it opens in Sydney on 18 November this year.

Wicked the Musical

This blockbuster Broadway music is flying back to Sydney just in time for the school holidays. Wicked tells the untold stories of the Witches of Oz with spectacular visual effects, captivating storytelling and a memorable soundtrack. Water Slide and Lazy River at the Aquatic Centre, Sydney Olympic Park

Slip and slide your way through summer at Sydney Olympic Park’s Aquatic Centre. Found in the heated indoor leisure area, the Water Slide is the perfect addition to this water wonderland. Make your way up to the top and take a moment to look out over the pools before bracing yourself as you slide down.

Kids on the Coast – Natural Christmas Art and Craft

Join us for a day of designing and creating some beautiful Christmas craft, utilizing all that nature provides as resources. This will be an action-packed day for children with an interest in arts and crafts and a love of our environment. Designing, creating and having lots of fun! This event is for children aged 6-12 years. Kids on the Coast is a Northern Beaches Council school holiday program. Check out the full program. It is run at the Coastal Environment Centre and delivered by qualified education staff.

Christmas Pantomime: Carol Claus

The Wind in the Willows, Royal Botanic Gardens

The Pop Squad
