Fun, fitness and a festival afterwards – it’s time to run for a cause with the community in the fabulous Beach2Beach Charity Fun Run & Festival!

The 29th running of the iconic non-profit Beach2Beach Charity Fun Run takes place on Sunday 27 August 2023 across the beautiful Northern Beaches of NSW.

Initiated by Hotel Proprietor Mark Bayfield and his family, the original Pub2Pub route ran between the family’s Dee Why Hotel, along Pittwater Road, to what was then The Newport Arms.

“I’m extremely pleased that over the last decade, Brookvale Rotary has made it their major fundraising event and that the Beach2Beach was ‘reborn’ with the help of Cameron Bayfield, by introducing an amazing coastal course to avoid any main roads issues,” Mark says.

There are three course options, catering for everyone from serious athletes to young families.

  • 13km – Dee Why Beach to Newport Beach
  • 6km – Warriewood Rat Park, Walsh St, Warriewood to Newport Beach, 394 Barrenjoey Road, Newport
  • 3km | Family Fun Start – Mona Vale to Newport Beach “Bring the kids, bring the stroller, bring a huge smile. Fun and fancy dress while demonstrating a healthy lifestyle is what the 3km course is all about. Perfect for families and a great starting point for young athletes looking to eventually progress to longer races. You’ll join the 13km runners at Apex Park, Mona Vale Beach. There’s no excuse not to be part of this Beach2Beach course option. Wheelchairs, walkers and runners of all ages are welcome… and again, the celebrations continue at the Family Finish Festival above spectacular Newport Beach.”

Over the years, Beach2Beach has raised over $2.5 million dollars for worthy local charities including Life Education Australia, Bear Cottage, the Children’s Cancer Institute, Manly and Mona Vale Hospitals, Sunnyfield Disability Services, The Kids’ Cancer Project and White Ribbon Australia.

“The Bayfield Family is very proud that the Beach2Beach is a major legacy we’ve left on the Northern Beaches, embraced by the community every year and raising much-needed funds for some vitally important charities,” Mark says.

There are lots of great prizes up for grabs, including stays at the Manly Pacific, for fundraising, top team, schools, fastest finishers, and weird and wackiest dressed. Major partners are again Harbord Diggers and URM, along with Rotary Club of Warringah.

Whether a runner or a supporter, everyone’s invited to join in the post-race festivities. For more details on the fun festival at Newport afterwards, click here. There will be  live music, the ”big dig”, food and drinks and more!
