The Pottery Cafe recently reopened its doors, at a new location right in the heart of Collaroy. If you haven’t discovered it yet it’s time to make a coffee date with a side of ceramics or take the kids for something fun.
Nothing beats hanging out at a cafe with a creative flair. That’s why The Pottery Cafe has remained so popular on the Northern Beaches since it first opened its door back in September 2018. It’s the perfect place to eat, drink, paint and be merry, whether you’re a toddler, teen or an adult looking to unwind.
The fun ceramics painting isn’t the only appeal though — the food and drinks on offer are enough to warrant a visit. On the menu are bacon and egg rolls, fresh sandwiches, salad bowls, corn fritters, a variety of avo on toast with different toppings, Nutella crepes and brioche French toast. Their crazy milkshakes and build-your-own ice cream cup will leave your kids grinning from ear to ear. Over the weekend you will find specials including vegan/gluten-free doughnuts and scones which are have become increasingly popular.
By day the venue is a ceramics cafe and encourages people of all ages to come in and get involved. It has pre-fired ceramics available for visitors to paint on. These are then left with the cafe to glaze and fire over the next 7 to 14 days after which they can be collected. Fortunately, the ceramics are both dishwasher and food safe.
While planning your child’s birthday with a delightful afternoon tea and painting is also part of The Pottery Cafe’s offerings, it’s the quality events for adults that will hit the sweet spot. When bars and restaurants get boring, the cafe opens up another option.
“As a licensed venue, the café holds a variety of evening events most Saturday Nights, partnering with small local businesses to bring something different to the community,” Bobbi Tailor-Jepson, owner of the cafe, explains.
“These range from Trivia Nights to artist guided canvas paint and sip nights and other creative workshops. You get to do something different each time and meet new people to connect with.”
And if this is not enough the café also hires out its venue for private events — super popular for hens nights, baby showers and Christmas parties with a variety of food and drink options including authentic indian fusion delights.
If you haven’t already, head on over to this brilliant Beaches business to get creative. Making a booking via phone first is advisable.
