Pittwater locals – your dining game just got a serious upgrade with not one, but two waterside venues that’ll have you setting multiple lunch dates in your calendar.
The Green Bay Waterfront Cafe
First up, say hello to The Green Bay in Bayview, the new kid on the block that’s already winning hearts. Opening bright and early at 6am for all you early birds, this gem keeps the good vibes flowing until 3pm. The new owners? They’re the kind of lovely humans who surprised locals with free meals during their Instagram shoot – and if that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about their community spirit, we don’t know what will!
Sitting by the water at beautiful Bayview makes you feel as though you’re on holidays. And there’s an extensive menu to cater to all appetites as well. Brekkie is well covered with the big Green Bay Breakfast, also available as a vegetarian option, plus pancakes, brioche French toast, eggs benny, cheese toasties and eggs your way. Some of the breakfast items are available all day as well including the bacon and egg roll, Green Bay omelette, Jamaican Porridge, Smashed avo, acai bowl and the Green Bay Bruschetta.
For lunch, there’s chicken schnitty, pan seared salmon, gnocchi truffle and a selection of sandwiches and burgers. There’s also a great selection of salad bowls, including a Burrata Salad and The Green Bay’s Fitness Bowl – be warned it’s placed temptingly beside the Loaded Fries with chopped bacon and liquid cheese on the menu!
Bringing your four-legged bestie straight from the dog park? No worries! Snag a spot on the deck where you can watch boats drift by while diving into breakfast (and maybe sharing a sneaky bite with your pup – we all do it).
The Clareville
Meanwhile, over at the beloved Clareville Kiosk site, a new chapter is underway. Now rebranded The Clareville, this 41-year-old icon has kept its soul while levelling up its menu. Think native ingredients meets fresh seafood in the most mouthwatering ways possible.
For the regulars nervously wondering – breathe easy! Your favourites haven’t gone anywhere (we’re looking at you, whipped seaweed butter with sourdough – iykyk). But wait until you try their new offerings. Dumplings with asparagus and smoked macadamia? Ocean trout with smoked cream cheese and saltbush? The Blue swimmer crab agnolotti? Honestly, choosing what to order might be the hardest part of your day.
