2024 marks the 46th Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. This year‚Äôs theme ‚ÄėOur Future‚Äô calls on LGBTQIA+ communities to imagine and demand the world they deserve, acknowledging the past, but envisioning what comes next. This year, there‚Äôs a variety of events on the beaches offering something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for lively performances, trivia, craft, or a chance to connect with others, it‚Äôs all happening. Shop with drag queen Carmen Geddit 

Get ready to be entertained, inspired, and uplifted with talented drag queen Carmen Geddit who will captivate audiences of all ages with their charisma, humour, and flair. They will be spreading the joy of PRIDE throughout the centre during the weekend of Mardi Gras celebrations.

Date: 2nd and 3rd March

Time: 10am – 11am

Location: Roaming throughout Warringah Mall.

Sip on a Mardi Gras inspired cocktail

To celebrate Mardi Gras, Absolut and Merivale have created Absolut Rizz Fizz ‚Äď a limited-edition cocktail that‚Äôs bright, vibrant and refreshing.‚Ä® Two dollars from the sale of every Absolut Rizz Fizz will be donated to our partners at ACON and The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation.

Where: Available at Queen Chow Manly, The Collaroy, and The Newport Pavilion

Fusion Pride Trivia Night

Join Fusion Pride for a trivia night every Wednesday. The event is free to play and includes questions on a variety of topics, including current events, pop culture, history, and more.

Location: The Good Bar, 41 Orchard Rd, Brookvale. 7pm.

Rainbow Story Time

Celebrate Mardi Gras with a special story time for all families at the library, featuring stories and songs about family, love and pride.

10am Rainbow Story Time sessions:

  • Thursday 29 February at Forestville Library

Paint Pride Pots

Daniel Mudie Cunningham: Proud Mary is a 4-channel video projection that documents Daniel Mudie Cunningham’s performances of this iconic song. Chosen as his funeral song, Daniel has vowed to perform a lip-syncing rendition of the song every five years until his death.

Visit Taronga Zoo with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence

Take a ferry across Sydney Harbour to Taronga Zoo for a special tour with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Zoo guides will lead you on a tour of the zoo, highlighting native Australian animals. The Sisters will add their unique flair to the tour with poems and 19th-century recipes inspired by Australian fauna.
