Cricket Camp and Basketball Clinic, Mosman and Terrey Hills

These summer holidays, Mosman Church of England Preparatory School, is excited to once again partner with Cricket Appeal to offer a two-day cricket clinic at Balmoral Oval and a basketball clinic at the School.

Jump into Carlile Swimming’s holiday program!

Looking for a fun, holiday activity that can boost your child’s confidence and swimming skills then you’ll find it at Carlile Swimming. The summer holiday swimming program is on weekly for three weeks from January 4.

  • A lesson every day for a week! If your child is currently in lessons, then there is no better way to help them progress with the skills they are trying to master. Cost is a discounted $100 for a week, you effectively pay for four lessons and get one FREE!
  • Specialised Clinics for Mastering Butterfly and Breaststroke, Dives and Turns or being Carnival Ready. Coaches work with your child on the specific areas they need to improve. These can be booked individually for $23.25 per clinic.

Balmoral Watersports Multi-activity School Holiday Camp

Debating and Public Speaking, Speaking Schools Australiasia

Speaking Schools Australasia will be running fun LIVE online and a limited number of face-to-face programs to help students build their confidence in Debating and Public Speaking over the Summer break. Kids on the Coast

Pre-Christmas fun for the young ones is being taken care of by the Northern Beaches Council’s Kid on the Coast – Christmas Rangers’ school holiday program. Activities suitable for ages 6-12 years include a bushwalk, a science experiment and some Christmas craft and games. Remember to bring a hat, a refillable water bottle, some morning tea (nut-free) and enclosed wet shoes. The program’s being run between December 17-23 from 10am to 3pm. Book here.

The Wind in the Willows

From 6 to 24 January, the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney will host the critically acclaimed outdoor theatre production of The Wind in the Willows. Watch the Head Chief Rabbit transform the audience into rabbits with a waggle of the ear and a wiggle of the nose. The ‘young rabbits’ will be encouraged to join in the action, scream and sing along all the way through the interactive adventure.

Room on the Broom on Stage

A cat and a witch sat on a broom,  grinning as they fly high in the air. But a strong wind blows and takes away the witch’s hat, bow and wand. Luckily, a dog, bird and frog find her lost things but as they sit on the broom for a ride, snap it breaks from the weight of five. That’s the high energy treat you and the young ones will be in store for with the Room on the Broom! There are two shows each day between 14 to 17 January with varied timings. Find more info here.

MINI MAESTROS – Mimi’s Symphony

Children’s entertainer Justine Clarke and conductor George Ellis lead a beautiful children’s concert where a little magpie, blown from her nest, learns to survive in the suburbs, and brings all the animal gangs together in a joyous symphony.

It’s playing at Chatswood’s Concert Hall on 20 January between 10am to 11am and then again from 1pm to 2pm.

The 91 Storey Treehouse on Stage

The CDP Kids presents The 91 Storey Treehouse, an adaptation of the book by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton. Follow the adventures of Andy, Terry and Jill in an engaging mix of song, physical comedy, puppetry and more. Kids between the age of 6-12 will absolutely love it!

Wild Ropes at Taronga Zoo

Swing, step and climb at Wild Ropes in Sydney’s iconic Taronga Zoo and wave a big hello to the koalas, emus and kangaroos at the Australian Walkabout. It’s the perfect activity for kids who love a fun challenge. The course can take from 45 minutes to two hours depending on the type of package and path you choose. Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden Bush Kids Activities

Get your young ones to step into nature at Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden at St Ives and enjoy the great outdoors with adventure-based play activities. The Bush Kids program is suitable for children aged 6 to 12 with sessions running between 8 December to 21 January (9am to 4pm).

The Australian Museum

After a massive $57.5 million building transformation that took 15 months, the Australian Museum reopens to the public on 28 November (10am to 5pm). To celebrate, for a limited time, Museum general entry is free!

These holidays, families can also travel back in time 66 millions years ago in a special interactive exhibition  “Tyrannosaurus – Meet the Family’.

“This summer the world’s most feared dinosaur, Tyrannosaurus rex, comes crashing out the Cretaceous and into the new blockbuster gallery at the Australian Museum. But watch out, the 13-metre-long, saw-toothed predator isn’t coming alone – the whole tyrannosaur clan will be roaring to meet you. Come face-to-face with a life-sized T. rex, run for your life in a virtual experience, you can even hatch a dino egg in this interactive exhibition.”
