Good to Know:

“The Coastal Environment Centre (CEC) offers a school holiday program with a difference. With a unique theme for each day, your child will learn about our natural environment through a range of fun and interesting activities. Fun filled, action packed school holiday programs are offered during the summer, autumn, winter and spring school holidays. This is a great opportunity for children to learn about our environment and how they can help preserve it.

What’s on for April: Rockpool Adventures, Junior Marine Biologist, Sea Kids Exploration, Our Brilliant Beach, Nature Detectives, Orienteering and Survival, Fossil Hunters, Survivor!

Good to Know: The holiday program is suitable for children aged 6 (who have started school) to 12 years (unless otherwise advertised). Programs generally run from 10am-3pm (unless otherwise noted) and cost $68.00 per child (per program). Please note РActive Kids Vouchers are not able to be accepted.

Balmoral Watersports School Holiday Activities

“Have Fun – Be Safe – Learn New Skills – Make New Friends” these school holidays!

Our “Multi-activity” water-sports camp offers different activities throughout the day, including Sailing, Windsurfing, Stand up Paddleboarding, Kayaking and games on/off water, with a major emphasis on having fun, and gaining & improving water-sports skills!

Every day is a different day with changing weather conditions, new games and new challenges. We welcome kids with water-sports skills & abilities as well as total beginners. Our aim is to introduce kids to water sports, gain more confidence on the water, and learn sailing in a fun way. We also really encourage making new friends.

Kids can start from 5yrs up to 15 yrs, they must already be able to swim 25m confidently. We have 4 different age groups: 5 to 6yo; 7 to 9yo; 10 to 12yo; and 13 to 15yo. We will also make sure they are put together with friends on the 1st day if required. Be prepared for a fabulous week of fun and learning. It’s exactly where your kids want to be, rain or shine!

Good to know: Children are to bring their own packed lunch. The program will continue in wet weather conditions. Please ensure you or your child are aware of the weather forecast for the day and have packed accordingly.

Monsters and Aliens Puppet Workshops, Avalon Creative Space

If your child loves moving images, film, music, and sound, then book them into Sardalya Creative’s Animation Workshops. The end product will be delivered via e-mail so you can get ready with the popcorn to watch at home. Ideal for ages 11-15.

Roller Disco, PCYC, Dee Why

Get your glam, sparkles, grunge, board shots and crazy wigs on and get down to Dee Why PCYC for a Roller Disco. Hosted during NSW Youth Week, this skating spectacular is a celebration of your kid’s unique sparkly self! There will be a rocking DJ, games, and prizes for the best dressed, best moves and more. BYO skates and blades are recommended but skates are available to hire or purchase in advance. The PCYC café will also be open for light refreshments. Roll on down!

Kids’ Art Adventures, Manly Art Gallery and Museum

Art, sound, and movement collide at this creative school holiday workshop. Presented by multi-disciplinary artist Peta Morris, in collaboration with musician and artist, Noah Bloom, this engaging workshop will spark imaginative and creative play. Children are invited to explore the exhibition, Express Yourself 2022, and create a large collaborative experimental drawing inspired by the sounds of live piano, voice, and instruments.

Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden Bush Kids Activities

Reptiles Up Close, Mona Vale

Join us for an interactive reptile encounter these school holidays. This interactive reptile encounter aims to fascinate, inspire, educate and encourage a love for our reptile and amphibian friends and their environment.  During this hands on one hour show you will see multiple lizards, a bearded dragon, a freshwater turtle, green tree frog, pythons and a saltwater crocodile. This show is aimed at primary school aged children.

Tinkerbell and the Dream Fairies, Royal Botanic Gardens

Join the magical fairies on an exciting musical adventure at the Australian Shakespeare Company’s production of Tinkerbell and the Dream Fairies. In this family-friendly stage show, Tinkerbell and the fairies from A Midsummer Night’s Dream embark on an enchanting adventure of song and dance in Bubble Land. Take part in the fun by dressing as a fairy, elf, Jedi, pirate or even a superhero, and pack a picnic (and perhaps some fairy bread)!

Dinosaur Festival, Australian Museum

Jurassic World dinosaurs have descended on the harbour city. This school holiday, the Australian Museum’s home of bones will be transformed into a six-day palaeontology party that will send you back 200 million years to the Age of Dinosaurs. The roaring free program features live experiments, performances, interactive activities, a closing night Dino Rave and more. While you’re there, check out their blockbuster Jurassic World exhibition; an adventure of 6 million LEGO bricks in the making.

St Ives Treetops Adventure + Playground

Families have a new experience to explore along the southern border of Ku-ring-gai National Park. St Ives is our newest Tree Ropes Course Park, hosting 95+ aerial obstacles and 10+ ziplines, all suspended between platforms to create a maze of activities in the treetops. Courses start at 1m for little climbers and jump up to 15 metres for bigger adventurers!

Sessions run for 2.5-hours to climb as many courses as you can during your session. You can choose to start on low easy courses or go straight up on a higher course. If you don’t feel like climbing up on a higher level, you are always welcome to complete a lower or same course again during your session. Your session includes harnessing, training and approx 2-hours of climbing. When you’re done there’s a spectacular playground to explore as well!
